2G, 3G, 4G - What are they?

2G - The second generation of mobile phone transmission and cellular phone technology. 
It was introduced in 1992 also the first to use digital encryption of conversations. 2G networks were also the first to offer data services and SMS text messaging. Obviously, its data transfer rates are slower than to its successors. 
GSM 900 and GSM 1800

 are 2G capable.

3G - The standard for most of the wireless technology. 
This network offers faster data transfer rates and the first to enable video calls. This network is suitable in modern smartphones that requires a reliable high-speed internet connection for many of their applications. UMTS 850, UMTS 2100 and UMTS 900 are 3G capable


4G -  
Is the 4th generation which enable us to go faster on our mobile phones and dongles. It is most widespread, high-speed wireless service and provides ultra-broadband internet access for mobile phones. It is suitable for use in USB wireless modems for laptops and home internet access. LTE 1800 is capable.
